Today we cycled from Abbotsford to Hope. Most of the ride was beautiful as we got closer and closer to the mountains until they seemed to surround us even though we were only pedalling on a slight upwards incline most of the time.

Then a few drops hit us. Then a few more. Then the clouds opened and rain poured down. Luckily, wet weather gear is pretty good these days.

Some unknown (maybe 30mins?) time later, the rain had mostly stopped and the sun shone again, leaving only 3 soaked cyclists and a wet road as evidence of the downpour.

This (the sun and remaining drizzle) combined to paint rainbows all around us, making the mountains even prettier, framed and highlighted by rainbows.

Even better were the rainbow cars. Every time a car passed us, it sent up a cloud of misty spray behind it. In every car's cloud, there was a rainbow which stretched and changed as we watched, making the raoiniuninbow race along the road. This more than made up for having to share a road with cars. ;)
