Today was a long-ish day in the saddle. It didn't feel that long because it was quite varied. The scenery changed quite a bit, there were a good amount of hills and descents, and the occasional bicy le to oggle. However, I did clock some 8h in the saddle.

That's 8 hours of entertaining myself on a relatively quiet road. Aside from singing, listening to music, thinking deep and shallow thoughts, I started interacting with the byway.

But first, byway? Really? You needed another word for 'road'? I think I now understand 'highway', 'freeway' and 'interstate' and you throw in another word?

So, the conversation roughly went as follows:

[Heading downhill]

Pacific Coast Scenic Byway [sign]: Shoulder closed

Me: Closed? You can't just close MY shoulder! Where am I meant to go? Have you seen the logging trucks?

PCSB [sign]: Loose Gravel

Me: Oh, loose gravel. Thank you for thinking of me. I wouldn't want to cycle on that. Not this fast.

PCSB [sign]: Missing Shoulder

Me: Is this going to be a repeated thing? Because you should really get that seen to...

Talking to animals and stuffed toys is nothing.
